My creative chaos this week.  So busy getting ready for markets and bush christmas.  I love making these felt goodies.

I'm off for a couple of days now, Bull sale tomorrow and Markets on Saturday, Rest day Sunday.

What a beautiful day, this is promising to be....  Its amazing what we see on the way to the bus.  Usually we are so rushed I don't take the time to look around, but this morning we were a little early, so I took time to look around.  Our house is 6km in from the main highway where Emeline gets the bus, so we cover a fair bit of our property to  get to the main road.  It was like a zoo this morning, we saw hundreds of Kangaroos, wild pigs at the dam, Emu's, a Brolga family, wild goats, several different types of birds, the usual crows, magpies, pigeons, happy jacks, but then there are plains turkeys, parrots etc....  The girls love seeing and counting all the animals on the way.

Frustrated

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my old faithful laptop and my dialup.  I am still waiting to get hooked up to satellite.  My new laptop/camera etc...  are sitting there begging me to use them, but I still have to use the old one.  As I said frustrated.  My new laptop is so fast, and my new camera takes the most amazing clear photos, but they are too big for my old one, and they would never upload.....  Anything more than 1mb and I just have to dream.....

One day....   So I rang my Dad yesterday for Fathers Day.  Blow me down!!!  Mum told me he went to China on Thursday.  My Dads a bit of a jet setter, while poor mum gets to stay home these days, she used to go.  But like me, I suppose she has become wary of travelling...

So heres a picture I took on the weekend of the girls just for you mum  :-)

New Mascot

So I've been working on a new mascot, to take to the markets we attend.  She's a little bit quirky (well thats what I think anyway), she is still a work in progress.  The girls have gone off in the big truck with Daddy moving cattle, so I get to have some very rare alone time.  I think its time for tea and cake.

Addicted to books

I have 2 addictions, chocolate and books. I love books,  I have them all over the house and my cupboards are brimming over with them.  I have a whole cupboard full of childrens books, from when I was growing up and from when my husband was little and of course a whole new selection for my children.  I can never say no to a good childrens book.  Everytime I walk past a bookstore, I can't just walk on by, I have to stop and go in and spend at least 10 minutes soaking in the atmosphere.  There is something about the smell of new books.

Here is a couple I rediscovered while I was cleaning out one of the book cupboards, these ones are too precious for the everyday book cupboard.

My Creative Space

I have been busy spring cleaning this week, I have made a promise to myself and my ever understanding husband to try and declutter, a seemingly impossible task.  You would understand if you knew me and had seen my house.  I am a hoarder and find it very hard to get rid of anything, especially if I think I can use it again one day. 

So in between Spring cleaning, I have been trying to get things ready for Bush Christmas and another couple of markets we are going to very soon and of course my Made It and Etsy store, which I never seem to get to add new things too.  But I assure you I will get there.  

Anyway here is a couple of sneak peeks of what is on my creative desk at the moment.

Have to go for now, need to muster some cattle.  Will finish later.

Goodbye winter

Whewww....  Its about 30 degrees here today.  So I can safely say spring is here, and summer is certainly on its way.  Plus the little boy on the school bus did the pinch and the punch thing this morning when I dropped Em off at the bus.  It brought a smile to my face, some things never change.  
So I've been attempting to spread the love this week.  Now if I still lived in town this would be a lot easier.  But I have managed a few things,
Day 1:  Cooked my family a special roast pork dinner, and I let Em and Elsie eat all the crackley.  Yes I am a good mum :-)
Day 2:  Had my friends husband over for dinner, and cooked him a cornmeat (as she doesn't enjoy cooking it :-)  ).
Day 3:  Did extra work helping my husband.  Above and beyond the call of duty.  Also called my Mum, just to say hello.  We miss her so much.  Sent a couple of extras to a friend I am doing a swap with.
Thats about it so far.  Still a few days to go.  But I think, the spread the love thing, should be a year round thing......

I have recently been inspired the many blogs out there about sewing, and I started pulling out some of my WIP's that have been hanging around for years, while I have been spring cleaning, and I have decided it is time to get them finished, so I thought I might attempt to squeeze in one a week.

This Weeks W.I.P.

I started this Christmas stitchery, sadly 5 years ago.  It really only needs to be finished off, so I thought I would start with the easiest one to get finished.  Hopefully my Mojo will start flowing and I will keep the motivation going to finish the rest.
