ATC cards

I have always wanted to have a go at making some ATC cards, but have never got around to doing it.  So I joined in a ATC card swap with some of the Stampin Up ladies to help get me motivated, here is what I came up with.  My stamp collection is not that large yet, so I did the best with what I had.  We had to make 12 cards, 11 to send and 1 to keep.  I had a fun time creating these little cards, they didn't take as long as I thought.  I will definately be giving them a go again in the future.

Have a great day.

Happy Tuesday

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Easter.  Our Easter was a quite one this year...  Having had a busy few weeks before with visitors we spent our Easter catching up on some much needed R&R.

It was Emelines birthday on the 19th and I managed to make her a birthday cake this year, as per her instructions :-)  For all the time it took to create it only lasted 2 days.

I had a request for a little lavender hanging for a baby boys room, this is what I came up with.  I am pretty happy with the result, I think I would like to make another.  I have also been making my own gift/paper bags to wrap things in, just another way to try and use up some of my paper stash:-)

I finally finished by scarf that I mentioned the other day, here it is.

Elsie thinks it looks like a snail when it is all rolled up this.

Have a fantastic Tuesday.

Knitting

I love knitting, I am the first to admit that I am rather slow, but I do so enjoy the whole process of it.  I grabbed one of my countless knitting bags out the other day and discovered these.  My first pair of socks I tried to knit, I started these 2 1/2 years ago, I started great and managed to finish the first sock in about 2 months..  Yes, as I said I am slow.  I even started the 2nd sock and this is as much as I managed it has now been sitting since then waiting.  So I am determined I am going to finish it in time for winter.  The wool I used is a silk wool blend and I must say they feel wonderful on.  Well 1 does anyway:-)

Then I dug a little deeper and found this little scarf I was knitting for the girls, its hard to tell the colour, but it is a pretty pale purple and lime green finished off with thin black thread.  This is some of the wool my sister has spun.  It is so soft and snuggly..  So I think I might have a go at finishing this one tonight, I don't have much wool left, so it shouldn't take long.

Emeline turned 6 today so we have been rather busy enjoying the day.

Have a great evening.

A rainy start to holidays

We have a  wet and cold start to the school holidays:-)  The girls don't mind too much.  We have been working on some easter craft.  The girls both had a go at making these easy easter egg decorations.  Emeline made the first one for school, then we had some friends over and they made another one each...

These were so easy to make, you just need alfoil, sticky tape, tissue paper or crepe paper, craft glue (liquid) and ribbon or wool to hang.

1.  cut alfoil into strips...  need about 16 can use less if you want a smaller egg.
2.  cut/rip paper into small squares/rectangles.
3.  lay out 1 strip of alfoil, fold wool/ribbon in half and sticky tape to centre of alfoil piece.
4. scrunch up alfoil..  Continue to add strips of alfoil around outside, pushing into egg shape.
when you have the egg the size you want, it is time to start glueing the strips of paper to the outside.
5.  put glue on alfoil then attach paper.   Continue until outside of egg is covered and you can no longer see the alfoil.
6.  leave to hang up and dry.
To finish paint or colour with pens.....

Emelines Egg  (painted).

Elsies egg (painted then rolled in glitter)...  This egg is so Elsie :-)

The girls and their friends had a great fun making these, from the eggs came so many other ideas...

Yes we are still in our PJs today its a PJ kind of day :-)

Now for my disaster...

Remember I had this kit from way back and I was going to attempt a mini album...

Well so far this is all I have...  The sides of the mini album split open, now I have to try and figure out how to fix it, so it looks ok...

On a brighter note, I managed to make a couple more gift tags, to help with my paper stash busting.

If you asked me why I chose these colours, I couldn't tell you.  They are not what I would usually pick but I like what I have ended up with..

Have a fantastic day

Happy Friday

I am so glad it is Friday, after a very busy week that has dragged on, I have decided to have a rest today and not do very much, I am going to enjoy some time with my girls without worrying about school work or anything else.

We have been invited back to Bush Christmas this year, so it is time to start getting busy.  We were very disorganised last year and left everything till the last minute.  So I am going to be organised this year and set myself some goals and write myself a list.  This is so not like me, but this year is so busy, I think it is time to embrace being  organised.  So it is time to start creating...

And lots of kits, this is just a sample of some of them.

Have a great weekend.

Happy weekend

Emeline has been at my camera again.

Emeline has lost 2 teeth this week, and has been fascinated with herself ever since.  The eye is Elsie, she has been wishing she had wobbly teeth.

Our visitors are gone and the house is quite again, the girls are missing them already they've only been gone a couple of hours.

I did manage to squeeze in a couple of birds, I love these little ones.

Have a great weekend.

Peace and quite

This morning is one of  those perfect mornings, the air is crisp, the sunrise was beautiful and the children are still asleep.  It is one of those rare mornings where I have peace and quite when I get up, usually the girls are awake before me and waking me up, I managed to go for a walk, hang the washing and finally sit down with a cup of tea to read some blogs and some email, and the children and hubby are still asleep.

This is my idea of bliss.

Have a great day

A slow week

Well its been a slow week on the creations front.  But I did manage to finish off a couple of scrap pages today and get them put away in their albums, also managed to finish off a couple more birds and took a photo of sweet little Elsie for my mum, its hard to get a good photo of her.

I love this little bird, I handfelted this wool myself, I think it is so pretty.  There is nothing quite like handfelted wool and I find handfelting is one of the most relaxing things to do.

Have a great weekend.
