Scrapbooking Mojo

So I have been trying to get my scrapbooking mojo back. 

Here is one of my layouts that still has to be completed, just trying to find the right journalling tag.  I adore these photos of Big E, and have been wanting to scrap them for awhile.  I can't believe how long it takes me to finish a page, I lay everything out, look at it, move it around, look at it again, walk away and leave it, come back to it (sometimes months later) and so on....

This one is pretty plain, but I think it has a sort of appeal.

My mum (nanny) has been busy sewing for my girls again, here is one of her latest skirts. It is too cute.

Thanks nanny, the girls love them.

Finally

Well I finally got around to finishing some new birds and other things and putting them in my little MadeIt shop.  They have been sitting looking at me since last year.

I have also added some more kits to my Craftumi site.


Big E has been at my camera again, I must say her photography skills are improving.

Another Thursday

So another Thursday has been and gone, and I am left wondering where is this year going.  So much has happened. I finally got to see Mum and Dad last week, for a very quick visit, it is so peaceful when you visit there house.  Of course the surrounding country side is a mess thanks to the floods, but there house is still the same, it just takes a little longer to get there over the dirt road.  The girls had a great time, they never want to come home.

I've been working on these coasters made from wool felt.

They are so not my colours, but I think a set of them will be a nice gift.  I have had this wool felt for a few years now and have never used it, it is beautiful to work with,  I will have to keep a look out for some more, once I've used this lot up of course.

Big E has also been doing some artwork,

So my little sister is very creative, and with a little push, she has finally opened her own store on Craftumi and made it under the name Rebeccamillerdesigns. It always surprises me at how fast Bec is when she is creating, it takes me double the amount of time that it takes her to finish something.

Creative week

So the past couple of days have seen us needing these.  We got a much need 2 inches of rain over the past couple of days.  It has been dry out here, we have missed most of the rain.  A couple more of these kind of days would be lovely.

I did manage to get a little creative in between schooling and other things.  Wouldn't it be nice to just sit and not do anything except craft for a whole day.

Hot and Smokey

It has been another hot day today, and thanks to a bush fire, smokey.  The days are passing by quickly now, especially since my mornings are taken up with schooling Big E.

I got to it and pulled out some more of my craft goodies,  I've got some softie patterns I've been collecting for awhile now, maybe its time to get started.  We've got 1 friend who has just had a little boy and 2 expecting and I always think homemade gifts are a great way to go.

Here is a little Christmas gift set I have created for this christmas.  It is never to early for me, and I have been looking at this paper for awhile now, so I just had to do something with it.

Finally

Finally, my internet and phone are up and running.  It is amazing how much you really rely on and miss these 2 things when you don't have them.  Fingers crossed that all the gremlins are gone and there will be no more problems. 

The year has been busy so far, I've decided to do distance ed with Big E this year, so I have a whole new learning curve to conquer. So far so good, we are all enjoying the challenge, and the difference in Big E is well worth the extra work and time it takes.  She wakes up smiling and not grouchy, about the prospect of school.  For me that is the greatest reward.

On the creative front, nothing has been happening, I haven't stitched, knitted, felted or scrapped.  Nothing.  I woke up this morning feeling rather glum about it all.  But forgave myself pretty quickly, there is still a lot of days left in the year.

I arrived back from mini school on Friday night, and have spent my weekend catching up on phone calls, emails (there was about 1000 waiting for me), and housework.  So I think, this afternoon will be spent have a much deserved rest and getting my brain back into a normal week mode.
